Laura Lee Labrecque

The Motherload Reset grew out of years of asking one question: Why do so many capable mothers gradually become responsible for almost everything?

Over more than two decades of motherhood, Laura has built businesses, worked both full-time and part-time, and raised three children while managing much of family life. For many of those years, her husband worked away from home. Even after he began working locally, long shifts often meant he left before the children woke and returned after they were in bed. Much of the planning, organizing, remembering, coordinating—and doing—still rested on her shoulders.

Like many mothers, she gradually became the default person for almost everything. That experience led her to a question she couldn't ignore:

Why do so many capable mothers end up carrying so much alone?

The answer wasn't simply absent partners, poor time management, or working harder. It was the Invisible Load—and the way families can quietly adapt until one person becomes responsible for almost everything.

Over the years, Laura developed a practical framework to help families share household responsibility more effectively, raise capable children, and restore true partnership at home. That framework became The Motherload Reset.

Today, Laura lives on a small farm in Alberta with her husband, three children, livestock, and more projects than there are hours in the day. She believes mothers shouldn't have to lose themselves in order to love their families well.
